PERSONAL STATEMENT
I discovered my passion for tutoring when I began helping my classmate prepare for her Maths exams in her final year of lower secondary school. She struggled with confidence and interest in the subject initially, but watching her grades improve and, most importantly, her engagement increase was incredibly rewarding. This valuable experience motivated me to contribute to people achieving their goals through individually tailored teaching to inspire confidence and success. Having recently started at university, I have firsthand experience navigating challenges and struggles connected to the curriculum and exams. This allows me to connect and relate to students, while offering a wide range of tips and strategies depending on the students’ learning styles. I strongly believe that tutoring creates a unique opportunity to tailor education to these individual learning styles and challenges in a way that traditional classroom settings often intend to, however fail to achieve. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive and encouraging environment that strengthens confidence and enthusiasm. Whether learning about integral calculus or French grammar, my priority is to make learning enjoyable and accessible. Outside of academics, I aim to improve students’ soft skills such as time management and revision strategies in a holistic sense, as they are essential for students to become independent, eager learners who will undoubtedly achieve their goal in the future and more. Through this opportunity, I aspire to help students develop a genuine interest in their studies, unlock their true potential in academics and achieve their aspirations in life.
