TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Love Learning Tutors

English, Maths, Reasoning, Music, Sciences

I am an enthusiastic, highly organised individual who is, and always has been, dedicated to everything that I do. I have excellent time management and communication skills and work well under pressure, particularly when adhering to tight deadlines. I have gained a wide work experience over the past five years, many of which have included working in team situations, in an administrative roll or working closely with children. I am a passionate freelance music teacher specialising in singing and woodwind, focused on bringing a high standard of music education to people of all backgrounds. I have gained a variety of teaching experience throughout the years, working with young children to adults. Successfully devised and led workshops in both Primary and Secondary Schools, and have experience conducting large and small orchestras at a county level.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Self Employed – Instrumental Teacher

Teach woodwind, singing and music theory to pupils ages 7+, including those with SEND. Organise and plan my own lessons, set both short and long term goals for my students, and stay aware of current safeguarding rules and regulation. Adapt my lessons to be delivered online where necessary.

Part Time Receptionist – The Cedars School, London

Working on the main school reception desk. Responsibilities include communicating with parents, helping pupils and assisting with administration. Consistent use of different online data bases, so must be comfortable with technology.

Teaching Assistant – The Laurels School, London

Working as a TA within the SEN department in a private girls school in South London. Provide 1:1 support, both in and out of the classroom setting. Must be flexible and adaptable. Ability to support and work well with others, often sharing work load whilst approaching every day with a positive, can do attitude.

Private Nanny – Maggie Scott, West London

Worked as a private nanny for a family with two children in West London. Performed a wide variety of task which included:

- Collecting the children from school

- Assisting with homework (KS2 and KS3)

- Caring for pets/evening babysitting/house sitting

Dance Teacher/Camp Counsellor – Appel Farm Arts Camp, New Jersey

Worked as both a Dance Teacher and Camp Counsellor in Elmer, New Jersey. Live in position with the children, so professionalism was needed at all times. Attention to detail and organisation was key due to large class sizes.

Gymnastics Coach – Flics Gymnastics Club, Worcester

Worked as a gymnastics coach for children aged 4-16, both recreationally and with club squads. Ability to communicate well with parents and respond instantly to ever changing situations. Sharp eye needed due to potential safety hazards as well as a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

Volunteer – School Workshops

Experience volunteering in schools with various music based projects. Assistance with school choirs, supporting individual performers and concert preparations. Helped with general concert organisation, including preparation of musical scores and programs. Conducted county level youth orchestras.

ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS

I have been immersed in the performing arts since the age of six, being a member of a wide variety of orchestras and bands at county level including a chorister at Worcester Cathedral. I performed at a number of venues across Europe including Notre Dame, Buckingham Palace, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Ronnie Scott’s and have performed alongside the ESO and CBSO. I have recently completed my degree at The Royal College of Music, where I have been fortunate enough to work/perform with Martin Robertson, Janet Hilton, Pete Long, Mark Armstrong and Andy Panayi. During my school years, I was also a highly competitive Irish dancer at Sean Eireann McMahon School, winning silver and gold at the World Championships. I then trained for a further four years as a competitive contemporary dancer and choreographer. I was also a keen competitive sportswoman participating in a variety of activities including rowing and netball. All of these activities have given me fantastic organisation skills as well as great time keeping and determination.

SKILLS AND INTERESTS

I have always loved learning new languages, and currently speak 4 different languages fluently (Spanish, English, French and Catalan). Additionally, I am a musician and songwriter, and have been working on recording my own original songs for a few years now. I also have a deep interest in data analysis, having learned the R programming language at university, and having recently done a course in SQL programming.
