PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have seven years experience as a teacher and tutor of students of all ages from young children to postgraduate students.
I have previously been invited to supervise papers C11 Truth, God, and Metaphysics, with Norris-Hulse Professor Catherine Pickstock, in the Faculty of Divinity, and Part II Paper 04 European Philosophy from Kant, with Knightbridge Professor Rae Langton, in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. I have also served as a teaching assistant for the V83002 Justice course with Professor John Milbank in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Nottingham.
I have worked as a tutorial supervisor for Faraday Institute for Science. I have taught courses on ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Future Meaning of Human Identity’, 'The Origins of Modern Science', and 'Philosophical Arguments for the Existence of God'. And prior to undertaking postgraduate studies in England, I have also designed, taught, and evaluated many graduate-level courses on clinic lab and the principles of medical office management at Texas Health and Science University (THSU).
I have often volunteered to host, lead, and participate in a wide variety of seminars, colloquia, and reading groups, including reading groups on Nicolas of Cusa and G.W.F. Hegel at Peterhouse Cambridge; the Whichcote Society at Emmanuel College; the Quaero Cambridge theological apologetics and Fisher House Apologia series; the Aesthetics and Politics Reading Group on Critical Theory; as well as reading groups on Plato, Aristotle, Origen, Plotinus, Pseudo-Dionysius, Eriugena, Damascius, and Schelling and Hegel.
I have previously presented over 50 professional papers at the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Durham University, the University of Nottingham, the University of Warwick, the University of Bologna, the University of Salamanca, the Sapienza University of Rome, and the University of Texas at Austin. I am scheduled to present professional papers at Sorbonne Université, Paris, Catholic University of Leuven, and Stanford University. Additionally, I have also presented over 50 para-professional papers at the University of Cambridge, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Health and Science University, Houston Baptist University, and recently at the Jewish Rabbinic Training Academy of London.
I have twice been interviewed for the Cambridge Festival of the Ideas. I have collaborated to host a public forum, in partnership with the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence 'God and the Machine: Religious Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence' for the 2019 Cambridge Festival of Ideas. I have also previously collaborated with Prof Robin Kirkpatrick to plan the public forum on angelology ‘What have the Angels Ever Done for Us?’ for the 2018 Cambridge Festival of Ideas.
I have often been invited to give interviews and speak podcasts, radio, and television about themes in theology, philosophy, and religion. I have contributed a radio interview with BBC Cambridgeshire on theological interpretations of artificial intelligence. I have also recently contributed an article ‘Artificial Intelligence Made in the Image of God’ to be published on the blog of the William Temple Foundation.
