SKILLS & INTERESTS
I love reading, going to the theatre, watching films and going to art galleries. I’m particularly passionate about comedy and independent cinema; I’ve written and produced several short comedy films off my own back and run a women in comedy screening, where female comedy filmmakers screen and discuss their work.
I also enjoy endurance sports; cycling, running and swimming. I also like skiing, hiking and water skiing.
I love cooking and reading about food and food culture. I can turn my hand to most recipes and love shopping seasonally and locally.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Writer & Producer - Mother’s Best Child
I wrote and produced over 50 episodes of channel 4’s flagship digital programmes, satirical sketch show The B@it, and character comedy series Nasty Neighbours.
I also produced a half hour linear TV pilot for channel 4, a scripted comedy studio show; a modern reimagining of Chris Morris’ Brasseye.
Wrote and produced a mental health animation campaign for King’s College London about coping with mental health issues aimed at teenagers.
Wrote and produced a mental health campaign funded by the Maudsley and the NHS aimed at families who were facing difficulty parenting in lockdown.
Produced a presenter-led digital children’s series that taught the principles of CBT and managing emotions to children in simple terms.
Produced a vlog style series for VW about a family taking part in the ‘yes’ challenge; where the kids are in charge for the day and mum and dad must say yes to all their demands for 24 hours.
Screenwriter - Freelance
Wrote two episodes of Pulped, a digital comedy series. One about a heightened, silly ‘film noir’ style detective who investigates people who haven’t paid their TV licence, another about an energy company who decides to start killing off their staff to offset their carbon footprint.
Part of the writing team on SeanceCast, a supernatural podcast showcasing the best up and coming female and non binary comedy talent in the UK.
Wrote and produced my own short film starring The Fast Show’s Arabella Weir, about a con woman who combines exorcisms with aromatherapy.
Developing several long form drama and comedy projects with various UK independent production companies.
Development Producer - Rockfleet Productions & Verizon Media
Pitched ideas for new show to UK and US based commissioners
Worked with writers to develop ideas into scripts and series.
Oversaw production and post-production from budgeting, scoping, scheduling, planning shoots and delivering final edits.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have been fortunate to have a fantastic education, and feel very lucky for the great start in life my best teachers gave me. The teacher-student relationship is so important; when I was at school there was a clear correlation between the subjects I excelled in and the personal connection I felt with particular teachers. I aim to form similarly strong bonds with my tutees by getting to know them thoroughly as people, and tailoring as much as possible to their specific educational needs. I went from an inner city state primary school to a very competitive independent girls’ school at 11, so I understand the stress involved in educational pressure really ramping up, and aim to help work on students’ confidence as much as their grades as they adapt to new situations and blossom into wonderful young adults!
I am an experienced writer for TV and film, and am passionate about storytelling. I hope to infuse my students with my enthusiasm for writing; whether it be through creative writing or essay writing. As a TV producer, I’ve also worked closely with actors, and can work with young people to improve their performance skills in speech and drama or English oral. Producing also requires many practical skills, and budget management; I’m able to help my students hone the organisational skills they need, not just to pass exams, but to have happy and fulfilling lives and careers.
