SKILLS AND INTERESTS
I love books. I think that they’re the ultimate form of human communication and that only through them can we truly stand on the shoulders of giants. I also dedicate a considerable amount of time to exercise in my free time, either swimming or lifting weights. Apart from that I am also keen on music both playing (piano and guitar) or listening (a bit of everything really). I am an avid admirer of all of Mankind’s great engineering feats, from spacecraft and planes to Formula 1 and microwavable cookies.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
I think there are some foundational deficiencies in the way pupils are taught in our schools. The average UK class size is about twenty-four. Twenty-four different heads, thinking in twenty four different ways, able of approaching each topic from hundreds of different perspectives. As such, even the best teacher would never be able to convey all the information necessary both fully and effectively. Consequently, although I recognize the practical impossibility of generalising one-to-one teaching in schools, I believe that having such an opportunity it is an essential complement that any student could greatly benefit from. As for me, I am currently doing an MEng Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. Before coming to university, I attended a boarding military school for seven years. As we had limited contact with the outside, it was sometimes hard for students to get help with their school content. Not only that but, because it was a tuition-free school where entrance and continuation were dictated by academic dedication and merit, there were a lot of students whose financial situation also didn’t allow them to access external tutoring. For me, helping them was extremely rewarding. Not only because I learned the content better myself, but also because I found out that a lot of them were actually very bright. They were just being taught the wrong way. Apart from that, I also had the opportunity to volunteer at a local centre that helped children from underprivileged backgrounds with their schoolwork which was also an amazing experience. My approach to tutoring is very simple, I believe that good tutoring can only be accomplished through a tailored, continual, and committed approach. Every student is different, both in terms of objectives and ways of learning. But, as the content is the same for everyone, it is up to the tutor to know the tutee and tailor the information to his/her objectives. I do this by getting to know the student, on a session-to-session basis, and continually adjusting my teaching methods. Whatever the tutee's objective is, the only way to reach it is by committing and, on my side, you can expect full my commitment to each and every one of my students.
