SKILLS AND INTERESTS
I am a professional English and Japanese teacher and have taught a variety of students or a wide range of ages and nationalities, in many situations. For example, one-to-one tuition, school classes of 40 students. I did an interned teaching Japanese at St Mary's Catholic College, Cairns and it sparked my interest in teaching Japanese. I completed the 420-hour Japanese Teacher Training Course over 2 years while working as an English teacher and now I work as a qualified Japanese teacher.
I like working out, travelling, eating, watching movies and sports, especially football.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have been working as a tutor, coach and a classroom teacher for over 8 years. I enjoy creating a friendly and fun atmosphere in my lessons. These days I have been mainly doing one-to-one online lessons. I believe that in order to have a deep connection with students we need to create a relationship of trust. Acquiring trust by students improves not only the quality of classes but also students’ skills.
I personalise lessons plans to each student’s needs to make use of their precious time. Including lots of practical exercise where students actively speak and write. I am there to support in their development and quest for solutions.
