SKILLS AND INTERESTS

I am a business development representative for a global consumer data company and help lead my department’s social and wellness events. I am passionate about health and fitness, spending my free time exercising, previously participating and umpiring Netball at university. I enjoy keeping up with current affairs, travelling and learning phrases in other languages, I can fluently speak Punjabi and moderately read/ write.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Having personally had plenty of tutors throughout schooling, I believe it was imperative for my academic development as well as self-confidence and passion towards learning. My pursuit of knowledge strengthened between 14- 17 years old as university became more attainable from tutors focusing on improving my exam techniques. Alongside my ability to offer tried and tested advice, I hope to present fresh perspectives through a more holistic and up to date approach to keep students engaged. My passion for tutoring has stemmed from having a great relationship with my younger siblings and enjoying my previous role as a holiday club mentor. I am an optimistic and patient person who now aspires to have greater impact by bonding one to one with students beyond the syllabus to boost their confidence and grades; this in turn will widen their future opportunities. I am highly self-motivated and very organised therefore will prepare tailored approaches individualised for a student's needs but will always work collaboratively to reflect which methods are working and ways to improve together. Along with necessary collaboration, I will inspire independence by setting tasks and sharing strategies that require practice in order to benefit their assessments and beyond. I will provide an encouraging environment and allow open conversations guaranteeing empathy and praise, with consistent communication between the parent and myself.
