SKILLS & INTERESTS
I grew up speaking Arabic as my first language, so I am fortunate enough to be fluent in both Arabic and English. I also have studied French since I was a child, so I am at an intermediate fluency. I am known for being a bookworm, I love picking up a crime fiction in my free-time or indulging in a romance novel. I enjoy traveling, as it allows me to discover different cultures and traditions. I spend some evenings painting, drawing or practising calligraphy to nurture the artistic side of me. As the eldest daughter to 3 siblings, I have done my fair share of cooking, and have turned this into a hobby too! I love to bake cakes and treats for birthdays or surprise friends on special occasions.
WORK EXPERIENCE
I have worked as a teacher in a private school, Tanzeel, since 2019. I teach a class of girls, ages of 6-9, Arabic language and Islamic Studies. With a classroom of 15, I make sure that each student has individualised attention and that I cater to their unique learning needs and pace. I maintain open communication with the parents, providing them with weekly written updates and bi-annual parent evenings. I ensure that my classroom is a safe environment, so that each child is comfortable and tries their best every day. I always uphold a class reward system, which is appealing for the young girls and provides motivation.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
From a young age, I have truly loved learning. Unlike most children or teenagers, I was actually excited to sit down with my parents and work on homework or revision. This is because I was fortunate enough to have parents who made the process of learning not like a chore, but a fun thing to do. I found myself passing on this attitude to learning to my peers in secondary school and sixth form, doing my best to help others and share my revision notes. I soon started being known as the “helping hand” and set up an Instagram page, with the aim to be content with motivating even one person, by showing them how I made revision that little bit more enjoyable. I carried this with me through my Biochemistry degree, where I realised that I had a passion for learning and sharing knowledge! As an eldest daughter to 3 siblings, I have always had that nurturing side of me, through taking care of my siblings. When I paired this with the love for teaching and education, it was clear I had to start tutoring professionally! Alongside working with MyTutor, I teach at a private Arabic school which really highlighted the depth of personal connections in the world of teaching. While teaching in a classroom allowed me to guide my wonderful 15 students, tutoring offered a more tailored and deeper approach through 1:1 or 3:1 session. Although with both jobs, I am not just a teacher or tutor, I am a mentor, a guide, and a friend! With Love Learning Tutors, I am ready to embark on another chapter in my tutoring journey. I am driven by a singular vision: to not just educate, but to inspire, to mentor, and to empower the next generation, one student at a time.
