SKILLS & INTERESTS
As a dedicated educator with over ten years of experience, I specialise in Classics, Italian, History, and SEN teaching. My approach combines academic rigor with innovative strategies to engage students. Fluent in Italian and English, I leverage authentic texts and multimedia resources to enrich lessons. My interests extend to Graeco-Roman Archaeology, employing technology in education, and adopting multisensory methods to accommodate diverse learning needs. I am passionate about inspiring students to appreciate the value of classical studies and languages in today's world.
Besides teaching, I have several hobbies that I'm passionate about:
Dancing: I love dancing, especially tango. It's a fun way for me to express myself and connect with others.
Music: I enjoy listening to many types of music. It relaxes me and inspires my teaching.
Cooking and Eating: Trying new foods and cooking Italian dishes are some of my favourite things to do. I like to share stories about Romand and Greek food with my students to make lessons more engaging.
Visiting Museums: My fascination with museums reflects my love for history and archaeology. Visiting museums not only fuels my passion for learning but also informs my teaching, providing real-world examples to enrich classroom discussions.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
As a qualified and passionate educator, my journey in teaching spans over a decade, enriched by a diverse background in Classics, Italian, History, and notably, a specialised focus in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My academic foundation is robust, highlighted by a PhD from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Latin with Classics from King’s College London. These qualifications have not only affirmed my commitment to education but have also equipped me with the knowledge and skills to inspire a wide range of students.
One of the cornerstones of my teaching career has been my dedicated year working in an SEN school, where I embraced the role of a Neurodiversity Lead. This experience has been profoundly impactful, allowing me to develop and refine strategies to meet the unique needs of students with diverse learning challenges. It taught me the importance of creating an inclusive learning environment that celebrates each student's individuality and fosters a sense of belonging and achievement.
My approach to education was shaped early on when I tutored a young student through his school exams, realising that igniting a student's interest was key to unlocking his potential. Witnessing his confidence and abilities flourish, culminating in an academic scholarship, was a defining moment that highlighted the transformative power of personalised teaching.
Throughout my career, I have achieved numerous successes, such as guiding a student to excel in Italian at Bocconi University and significantly improving another's English comprehension and reasoning skills. Whether it's helping students with time management, overcoming dyslexia, or engaging with complex subjects, my aim is to ensure a supportive, positive, and adaptive learning environment.
My passion for the arts and classical studies, combined with my SEN experience, allows me to share my enthusiasm and inspire a love for learning in my students. Together, we tackle exam techniques, study skills, and past papers, building confidence and ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic journey.
